One of the big benefits of using the EXF Rings is the new eBook that we wrote just for you. It is written to help you get the most out of your rings. It assumes you are not a competitive gymnast and provides you with a roadmap for achieving the muscle-up. It is actually the most detailed tutorial you will find anywhere on this very important exercise. Most coaches are teaching it wrong. They don't understand the mechanics of the movement or how to teach it. If you think the transition is tough, then read this book. It will make getting above the rings painless and (almost) easy.

The book is illustrated with over 100 photos, showing each movement from the front and side. Here is some of the stuff you will find inside the book:

  • 7 Basic exercises, the foundation of ring training
  • 3 ways to modify resistance, the key to making progress
  • the Muscle-Up and 7 ways to make it easier
  • learn why an incorrect "false grip" is like trying to max squat from the balls of your feet...bad idea
  • 9 progression exercises for the muscle-up, including one I HATE (Hint: It's the most common one being taught!)
  • Why flexibility makes the muscle-up easier and how to get it
  • 5 unique training strategies for different goals
  • How to create your own training plan
  • How to integrate ring training with your fitness program, such as CrossFit
  • 10 tips for getting the most out of your ring training
  • How to set up the EXF Rings

Ring Training for Elite Fitness is progression-based, so it doesn't matter how strong you are. You can start from anywhere and work your way up to the muscle-up and beyond. The key is finding all of the steps in between and we help you with that. Instead of relying on a coach to walk you through step by step, you will learn how to create your own path from Point A to Point B. With this knowledge, you can reach any goal you want.

One of the keys is using the principles of physics. Our entire approach is based on using physics and the mechanics of the human body in order to make your efforts more efficient. Many years ago, I learned the muscle-up by brute force. I didn't have any coaching and this is how it was taught back then. After my first muscle-up, I had elbow pain for a week. Even though I had enough strength on day one, it still took several months before I finally got it. If you have the correct preparation and efficient technique, you can get the muscle-up pain-free and much quicker than I did. There is a lot of advice floating around about how to train for the muscle-up, but sadly, most of it is wrong. One great source is the free tutorial here: the Muscle-Up, written by Jim Bathhurst. He covers some stuff that I don't cover in the book, so it's worth reading.
